Spiritual Mentoring
I have nearly two decades of experience supporting people spiritually. I've worked in churches, schools, retreat centres, and spiritual communities. Though I no longer belong to a religion, my background is Christianity, and more specifically, Catholicism. I have extensive knowledge of Christian theology, doctrine, and dogma, plus an understanding of church life. I have navigated spiritual trauma and came out the other side with a deeper sense of who I am and what Love is. I have unlearned the rigidity and repression of many of our cultural 'norms' and discovered expansiveness within and without.
In my own spirituality, I look to the mystics for a broader framing of not only my Christian and Catholic roots, but spirituality in general. I also look to Indigenous wisdom and the many gifts offered by ancient traditions and practices. I aim to do this with humility and gratitude, never in appropriation.
I grew up in Las Vegas, where I lived for the first 23 years of my life. I spent much of my childhood exploring the expansive desert and the surrounding mountains. The land was not a resource but a relative. When I moved to the North East of England, I felt a deep sense of wonder at the ancient woodlands, and I immediately felt at home. This connection to all of creation is integral to my spirituality.
I can support and journey with you whether you are religious, non-religious, or deconstructing your religion. I have never been alone on my spiritual journey. After all, isn't this All about connection? I have been blessed with many mentors and guides to accompany me along the way. We need those who can hold all aspects of the spiritual journey, including the paradox and uncertainty. The order, disorder, and re-order, as Richard Rohr would say. This is what I can offer. An experienced perspective grounded in good listening, no judgment, and other fundamentals of my therapeutic training. A safe space to ask big questions. Practices and rituals that ground you in your body and in the moment. Finally, curiosity over certainty.

"The wind and river are my mentor,
the falling leaf and floating branch, my guide,
they say to me, 'watch how I let go'."
Frequently asked questions
Where are you located? Is there parking?
The address for my therapy room is: Kibblesworth Millennium Centre, Grange Terrace, Kibblesworth, Gateshead NE11 0XN .
The centre has its own free car park.
How much does it cost?
Just like therapy, sessions are £50 and last 50 minutes.
Is this the same thing as therapy?
Only if you need it to be. Spirituality is expansive and fluid. It is not one part of our life but Life itself. Sometimes, along the way, we might come across some spiritual trauma or bypassing. In that case, I would recommend therapy, but the choice is always yours. I bring many of my therapeutic skills to this work, and sometimes there is overlap, but I will always make it clear if I believe it is moving into more of a therapeutic work. Which is still, of course, deeply spiritual.
How do I know if you're the right fit for me?
Trust your gut. Try to be aware of how our interaction makes you feel. Sometimes this can take a few sessions. Sometimes people know straight away. Here are a few questions you can reflect on after our first session.
Does my approach align with your goals and expectations? Did you feel safe, seen, and understood? Do you want to come back?
Is your room wheelchair accessible?
The building and my room allow for wheelchair and walker access.
Do you offer evening or weekend sessions?
No. I am not currently able to offer sessions on evenings or weekends. My first appointment slot is at 9:30 am, and my last appointment slot is at 3:00 pm.
